Focus VS Multitasking
Focus vs MultitaskingA lot of people have mistakenly thought that multitasking can really make you more productive and higher than the people who hate multitasking. Actually, multitasking does not work effectively and productively at most times. Multitasking can in fact make you less productive. So, it is better if you lessen the multitasking thing if you want to reach your goal ahead or on time. How then can multitasking affect you and your productivity in work? Multitasking can affect you and your productivity in work by letting you focus a lot of things at the same time. There are a lot of things you need to have your attention to and you would eventually lost your focus on the job you really need to finish within a certain period of time. By doing things all at once, you become more chaotic, more out of focus. And if this happens to you, you may finish the task, but since it is done with less focus, the task is done haphazardly. Tasks are not done perfectly or rightfully. There would always be a glitch in your work and thus, would require you to work on it again and do it all over. Furthermore, it would get you on a repeating cycle and while you repeat it over and over, other things would be sacrificed and pile up in time, which at some point would require your attention and would keep you delayed in reaching your goal. The repeated tasks would be such a hassle to you and would prevent you from going further and reaching your goal and be more productive. How can you prevent yourself from being unproductive?

Focus Versus Multitasking
First thing to do is to stop yourself from multitasking. Always focus yourself on one task at a time and do not do it all at once. Give yourself a certain time to finish a certain task and do the next task after you are done with the current task. It may seem that this can be a bit dragging but believe me, it can save you time. Why? This is because while you focus and engage yourself in one task at a time, that certain task will be done perfectly or rightfully; thus, prevents you from doing it all over again. Glitches are lessened because your attention is drawn to it and you can easily spot the mistakes as you know what you are doing. And since you are more focused on this job, fixing the glitch right away will prevent you from repeating it again. Also, by focusing yourself on one task, it can also prevent you from disengaging yourself from the current task you have. This is because when you do the tasks all at once, there is a tendency that you lose the interest over the other and leave it behind and continue on the other task. Moreover, multitasking can lead you to confusion; make you forget your priorities; and you will eventually lose your focus in reaching your goal. Due to the many tasks you are doing all at once, preparing your to-do list and setting your deadline will lose its purpose and you will also lose the purpose of reaching your goal. Everything will be in chaos and finishing up a task would be hard to do.
